Left Click on the above Media Player 7.1 picture and select Open if asked. After downloading completes, you will be presented with the below screen:

It is NOT NECESSARY to shut down any applications even though the setup program suggests it. The next screen is the End User License Agreement, select Yes after reading it.

The following screen is a simple welcome screen that explains what setup is going to do (Update Media Player) on your machine

The next screen describes in detail Microsoft's privacy policy. You must check the checkbox next to (I have read the Privacy Statement) to continue.

The following screen depends on what is already installed on your machine.
One possible screen gives you two options, to upgrade or to reinstall everything. We suggest you select Upgrade and select Next to continue.

Another Screen, which will likely be displayed if you have never had media player installed, looks like the one below. A list of component options for you to install will be displayed. We recommend leaving all of the options checked. Click on Next to continue.

If you had the screen that allowed you to select components to install, the next screen asks if you want to associate media player with different file types. Leave all the items checked and click next to coninue

The final screen should look like the one below, letting the user know that setup is about to complete. Click on Next to continue

Setup will go about its business installing files and support for Media Player. After Setup has completed copying files, You will see the below screen asking you to restart your computer. Selecting Finish to automatically restart your computer.
